All the participants are given six weeks to design such a robot and raise enough funds to create it. Each team is allowed to have a volunteering professional mentor. This mentor guides his/her team through the various steps. therefore it leads them to victory. Each tournament ends with the awarding of the championship known as the “First Robotics Championship”.

How Does First Robotics Help?

Like any other competition, First Robotics also helps students develop an eager interest in academics. Therefore they keep coming back for more. There is a renewed interest in science and technology among the students. They are are eager to learn more and come back as a better team the next time.

Learning From The Professionals

Since each team in the First Robotics competition is allowed to have more than one mentor, they all get an opportunity to learn from actual engineers. These engineers  are currently working in the field. Apart from guidance, mentors also serve as role models for the students to emulate in their respective fields. They learn to use the latest kind of hardware and software and work with the latest technology.

Team First Robotics

The level of communication between students increases drastically. . This, therefore, enables them to learn not just team communication skills but also enhances coordination and cooperation and reduces conflict. They learn to work under strict professionalism and coordinate to complete the task at hand in a given period.

All Skills Are Welcome

You have interest in science? NO, YES. You can use both technical and non-technical knowledge. Whatever is it, the fruit should be outstanding. No one wants to miss the prize. Participants learn to explore and teach each other throughout the process. They keep coming up with a basic robot that weighs around 150 lbs. They learn to strategically progress and share skills, talents as well as ideas. As a result they pool in resources and create their robot.

Teams at this competition require a multitude of skills ranging from radiography to public speaking. Therefore, a large number of students with different capabilities can all come together under one roof to teach and to learn. In this way they chase the championship. This further helps to remove the boundaries that may exist within students themselves as they often tend to segregate into mutually incompatible segments. The six-week teamwork ensures an amalgamation of all kinds of skills thereby welding students together in the process.
